She holds a PhD in strategy and global management and sustainable development. \n  Dr. Bertels joined SFU Business in 2008 from the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise at the University of Michigan\, where she spent two years on a post-doctoral fellowship from the SSHRC.
